Poland Inks Yet Another Deal for U.S. LNG, an Industrial Info Market Brief

Excitement for potential liquefied natural gas (LNG) approvals in 2019 continues to heat up as Poland inks yet another deal for U.S. LNG. In an effort to reduce dependence on Russian gas, the Poland Oil & Gas Company PGNiG has signed a 20-year liquefied natural gas deal with Sempra's Port Arthur LNG Project for the supply of 2.7 billion cubic meters per year, or approximately 2 million metric tons annually. The deal, which was announced Wednesday, could provide 15% of Poland's daily gas needs starting in 2023. This adds to the long-term deals PGNiG has signed for gas with Cheniere's Sabine Pass and Corpus Christi facilities and Venture Global's Calcasieu Pass and Plaquemines LNG facilities under development in Louisiana.
