Repsol Shuts Units at Peru Refinery, an Industrial Info Market Brief
The fuel demand drop and storage unavailability amid the COVID-19 pandemic risk caused Repsol to take offline the 30,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) Distillation 1 and 24,000-BBL/d Vacuum 1 units at its 110,000-BBL/d La Pampilla refinery in Peru. The facility continues running the 80,000-BBL/d Distillation 2 unit, which has been reduced up to 50% of total capacity as a consequence of the pandemic. Repsol expects to shut down and take advantage of the downtime to perform minor repairs on the 15,500-BBL/d FCCU and 36,000-BBL/d Vacuum 2 units by mid-June. Lower rates are planned to last until early August.
