The site selected for the Abreu e Lima grassroot refinery is the Suape Industrial Port Complex in the state of Pernambuco, Recife, Brazil. Chemtech (Rio de Janeiro) is the engineering firm on the project, and a consortium formed by Odebrecht SA (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and Construtora OAS (Sao Paulo) is in charge of the construction. The project completion is set for June 2012.
Separately, two 63,000-BBL/d delayed coker units and two regenerative caustic treatment units will be constructed to support the refinery. Chemtech is the engineering firm responsible for this project, and a consortium of CNEC Engenharia SA (Sao Paulo) and Camargo Correa (Sao Paulo) is in charge of the construction. Construction of the units is expected to start in September 2010 and to be completed by September 2012.
Finally, two 19,000-BBL/d naphtha hydrotreaters, two 82,000-BBL/d diesel hydrotreaters and two 3,000,000-normal-cubic-meter-per-day hydrogen units will be constructed. Chemtech is the engineering firm responsible for this project, and the Odebrecht-Construtora consortium is in charge of the construction. Construction is scheduled to begin June 2010, and completion is planned for June 2012.
