Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--Anhui Electric Power Construction No.1 Engineering Company (AEPC1) (Hefei, Anhui), a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) (Beijing), completed the erection of the generator stator for Unit 1 of China Datang Corporation's (Beijing) 1,200-megawatt (MW) Huaibei Hushan power project on February 3, 2013, according to an announcement from the CEEC on February 8, 2013.

As reported, the generator stator, with a net weight of 300 metric tons, was erected to the foundation, elevated 13.7 meters on the steam turbine floor, and is the heaviest single piece of equipment in the project. The erection was performed by a hydraulic lifting system made by APEC1.

The Datang Huaibei Hushan Power Project is located in Songtuan Town, Lieshan District of Huaibei City. As a relocation and expansion of Datang Huaibei Power Plant, the project is intended to replace a small unit with a larger one. On July 18, 2010, the project received approval from the National Development and Reform Commission. According to the approval, the project will be furnished with two 660-MW, supercritical, coal-fired units, together with a high-efficiency electrostatic dust-remover, flue gas desulfurization and denitration devices, and an online monitoring system. Upon completion, the project will replace units 5 and 6, which are two 220-MW, coal-fired units commissioned in 1981, in the existing Huaibei Power Plant.

The groundbreaking ceremony of the project was held on August 18, 2010, but construction of the project did not officially begin until 2012. Shanghai Electric Corporation (Shanghai) is responsible for the supply of the steam turbine generator, while Dongfang Electric Corporation (Chengdu, Sichuan) is responsible for the supply of boilers for the project. According to the schedule, both units of the project will begin operations in 2014.
