Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--Following the completion of the erection of the generator stator for Unit 1 of China Datang Corporation's (Beijing) 1,200-megawatt (MW) Huaibei Hushan Power Project on February 3, 2013, Anhui Electric Power Construction No.1 Engineering Company (AEPC1) (Hefei, Anhui), a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) (Beijing), completed the erection of stator erection for Unit 2 of the project on April 6, 2013, according to an announcement from the CEEC announced on April 11.
As reported, the generator stator for Unit 2 has a total weight of 345 metric tons, making it the heaviest single piece of equipment in the project. The erection was carried out by a hydraulic lifting system made by APEC1. Due to the limit of the lifting opening in the steam turbine room, the horizontal beam used for stator lifting has to be carried out in an inclined layout, which made the process more difficult. In order to ensure the safety, APEC2 Hushan Project Office has worked out a detailed scheme for the erection and made throughout inspection and preparation prior to the erection. The stator was erected onto its final position by two 90/20 T bridge cranes working in parallel.
The Datang Huaibei Hushan Power Project, located in Songtuan Town, Lieshan District of Huaibei City in Central China's Anhui province, is a relocation of the existing Datang Huaibei Power Plant. On July 18, 2010, the project received approval from the National Development and Reform Commission. According to the approval, the project will be furnished with two 660-MW, supercritical, coal-fired units.
Construction of the project kicked off in late 2012. Shanghai Electric Corporation (Shanghai) is responsible for the supply of the steam turbine generator of the project, while Dongfang Electric Corporation (Chengdu, Sichuan) is responsible for the supply of boilers for the project. According to the schedule, both units will begin operation in 2014. Upon completion, the project will replace the units 5 and 6 (two 220-MW, coal-fired units commissioned in 1981) at the existing Huaibei Power Plant.
