Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--Following the erection of the generator stator for Unit 1 of China Datang Corporation's (Beijing) 1,200-megawatt (MW) Huaibei Hushan Power Project on February 3, 2013, Anhui Electric Power Construction No.1 Engineering Company (AEPC1) (Hefei, Anhui), a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) (Beijing), erected the generator rotor for Unit 1 on May 14, according to an announcement from CEEC on May 15.

As reported, the generator rotor made by Shanghai Electric Corporation (Shanghai) is 12.025 meters long, with a maximum diameter of 1.335 meters and a net weight of 66 metric tons.

The Datang Huaibei Hushan Power Project, located in Songtuan Town, Lieshan District of Huaibei City, is a relocation and expansion of the existing Datang Huaibei Power Plant. According to the approval of the National Development and Reform Commission, the project is to be furnished with two 660-MW, supercritical, coal-fired units, together with a high-efficiency electrostatic dust-remover; flue gas desulfurization and denitration devices; and an online monitoring system to replace small coal-fired units with larger ones. Upon completion, the project will replace units 5 and 6, which are two 220-MW, coal-fired units commissioned in 1981, in the existing Huaibei Power Plant.

Construction of the project kicked off in February 2012. It is the first large-scale, coal-fired power project built in Huaibei, and a key support project for the construction of a leading coal, power and chemical industry in Huaibei City.

According to the schedule, both units of the project will begin operations in 2014. Upon completion, the project will play an important role in the implementation of Hubei's policy for energy conservation and emission reduction, and promote local economic development.
