Record highs of oil and gas production have marked 2019, but there also is an increase in oil and gas companies declaring bankruptcy. More companies have declared bankruptcy this year so far compared with 2018. A majority of these companies are based in Texas. Sanchez Oil and Gas Corporation, Halcon, Vanguard, and now EP Energy has joined the ranks. These bankruptcies affect the business of drillers, transmission, and terminalling companies as a trickle-down effect.
