Following a halt to operations in March to help curb the spread of COVID-19, some automakers in Brazil and Argentina have begun to resume manufacturing activities.

Following a halt to operations in March to help curb the spread of COVID-19, some automakers in Brazil and Argentina have begun to resume
In Brazil:
- Agco's Brazilian plants, located in Mogis Das Cruzes, Sao Paulo, and in the de south region (Rio Grande do Norte), resumed operations on April 14, after a 10-day shutdown. Administrative employees are still working remotely. The company's distribution center in Jundai, Sao Paulo, never halted operations.
- Agrale's plants at Caxias Do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, resumed operations on April 13 after they were suspended on April 1.
- CNH Industrial resumed operations at its plants in Piracicaba, Sorocaba and Contagem on April 13.
- FCA Fiat Chrysler Automoveis Brasil LTDA plans to gradually resume operations at its Betim (Mato Grosso do Sul), and Goiana, Pernambuco, factories. Production at these units has been halted since March 27.
- Scania resumed operations on April 27.
- Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus restarted production in Resendel on April 27, but with a smaller workforce for 60 days.
- Scania Argentina reopened its plant in Tucuman on April 27.
- Volkswagen Argentina resumed operations on March 27 its two plants in Argentina: the gearbox factory in Cordoba and the vehicle factory in Pacheco, Buenos Aires province. The company started with the production of the MQ250 gearboxes, with almost everything slated for export, using 40% of its available workforce. The new MQ281 box project could be delayed.
