Crude oil production in China totaled 16.24 million metric tons in June, a 0.7% increase over the same month in 2019, the National Bureau of Statistics of China said on Thursday.

Crude imports in June amounted to 53.18 million metric tons, a jump of 34.4% year over year.

China processed 57.87 million metric tons of oil in June, an increase of 9.0% year over year, and 0.8 percentage point higher than the previous month.

For the first six months of 2020, crude production reached 97.15 million metric tons, an increase of 1.7% year over year. China imported 269 million metric tons of crude oil during this period, an increase of 9.9% year over year.

China processed 320 million metric tons of crude during the first six months of 2020, an increase of 0.6% over the same period in 2019.
