Denmark's Kalundborg Refinery Undergoes Maintenance Shutdown

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--StatoilHydro ASA's (NYSE:STO) (Stavanger, Norway) 110,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) refinery in Kalundborg, Denmark, is undergoing a maintenance turnaround.

The shutdown started September 7 and mainly entails cleaning and inspection of the powerformer; the naptha, diesel and gasoline hydrotreaters; the visbreakers; the merox; and the gas-separation unit from the old part of the refinery. Authorities expect to have units back online September 20.

Separately, the refinery's next major turnaround is scheduled to take place in September 2010 and is expected to last 30 nonproduction days. The shutdown will affect all the units from the new part of the refinery. The atmospheric distillation (4100), the naptha separation (4200), the reformer (4400) and the Synflex (4850) unit will be affected, among others.
