Dollar Tree Stores Underway for a $70 Million Distribution Center in Illinois
The new Dollar Tree distribution center will replace Dollar Tree's existing distribution center in Chicago, Illinois.

Located on 112 acres southwest of Chicago, on Route 53 and Laraway Road in Will County, the new Dollar Tree distribution center will replace Dollar Tree's current existing distribution center in Chicago, Illinois. The center will support increased sales at the company's chain of stores in the Midwestern region. The building will be able to be expanded in the future to meet the Company's growth needs.
Groundbreaking for the new Joliet store began in May 2003 and completion is not expected until Mid-2004.
Clancy & Theys Construction Incorporated (Raleigh, North Carolina) was selected as the general contractor for the center. Clancy & Theys Construction have built other Dollar Tree Stores in states such as Georgia, Pennsylvania, Virginia, California, Mississippi and Oklahoma. Clancy & Thews are also concurrently working on Dollar Tree's 665,500 square foot distribution facility in Ridgefield, Washington, which is expected to begin operations in Mid-2004.
Dollar Tree Stores Incorporated is currently the nation's largest $1.00 discount variety store chain, offering a vast array of products including housewares, seasonal goods, food, toys, party goods, personal accessories, books, candles and more. The company operates 2,319 stores in 41 states and seven distribution centers.
Clancy & Theys Construction Company, founded in 1949, is a general contractor and construction manager. The company builds commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings, and specializes in team approaches to design and construction including Construction Management-at-Risk, Team-Build and Partnering.
