Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The Ministry of Environmental Protection recently approved the environmental impact assessment report for Liaoning Chuncheng Industrial and Trade Group Company Limited's (Fuxin, Liaoning) Jilin Gol No.2 aboveground coal mine.
The mine is in Jilin Gol Mining Zone in Xilinhot City, in the Inner Mongolia region. The coal mine covers a total area of 46.37 square kilometers, with a designed exploitable reserve of 1.53 billion metric tons. According to the design scheme, the project will be developed in open-pit mode with the adoption of a semi-continuous process, which comprises a single hopper, a truck, a semi-fixed crusher and a belt conveyor. The coal mine will have an annual design output of 18 million metric tons. A 6 million-metric-ton-per-year coal preparation plant also will be built. Total investment of the project will be about $960 million, including $11 million for environmental protection, accounting for 1.16% of the total investment.
Jilin Gol Mining Zone is a major coal-mining zone listed in the national plan, with a total planned area of 238.53 square kilometers and a total resource reserve of 2.417 billion metric tons. The mining zone is divided into two open-pit mines, two underground mines and three backup mines, with a planned production scale of 23.4 million metric tons per year, including 3 million metric tons per year for the No. 1 A-G mine; 18 million metric tons per year for No. 2 A-G mine; and 1.2 million metric tons per year for the Nos. 1 and 2 underground mines.
Chuncheng Group is a leading private enterprise group headquartered in the Liaoning province. In the beginning of 2004, Chuncheng Group established Xiwu Open-Pit Coal Mining Company Limited (Xilinhot, Inner Mongolia) to handle open-pit mining, transportation and exploration in the Jilin Gol Mining Zone. In February 2008, the No. 2 A-G mine received preliminary approval from the National Development and Reform Commission. Site preparation of the project officially began in June 2010.
