Flint Hills on May 10, completed planned maintenance on the 45,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) Gas Oil HT unit at its 320,000-BBL/d Pine Bend, Minnesota, refinery, which began in mid-April.
Sinclair Oil Company on May 11, restarted the 22,000-BBL/d FCCU 780 and 4,500-BBL/d SF Alkylation units at its 90,000-BBL/d Sinclair, Wyoming, refinery, after planned maintenance that started on April 4.
Suncor Energy on March 29, began planned maintenance on the 17,000-BBL/d HCC (Hodury FCC) and 5,660-BBL/d HF Alky units at its 83,000-BBL/d Sarnia, Ontario, refinery. The maintenance will be completed, and the units restarted, at the beginning or middle of next week.

Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) on May 11 was forced to shut down the 42,000-BBL/d ARDS 1 (Unit 12 - Train 1), 42,000-BBL/d ARDS 2 (Unit 12 - Train 2) and 42,500-BBL/d Hydrocracker units at its 454,000-BBL/d (actual capacity: 348,400 BBL/d) Mina Abdulla Refinery in Kuwait, due to an emergency shutdown in the steam generation unit. Expectations are to complete repairs and restart the units by May 13.
Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) has delayed the restart of the 96,000-BBL/d CDU 1 at its 300,000-BBL/d Mangalore Refinery in India. Previously planned to restart May 10, the unit is now expected to restart May 15. The unit has been under an unplanned shutdown since April 11 for production planning and minor maintenance.
Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) on May 9, was forced to de-rate its 240,000-BBL/d Mumbai Refinery in India by 10%, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Expectations are to resume full throughput by May 24. Additionally, the 30-day planned turnaround of the naphtha hydrotreater, isomerization and DHDS units has been rescheduled, also due to COVID-19. Previously scheduled to begin May 17, the turnaround is now expected to begin September 1.
