Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas--India's Power Grid Corporation of India (POWERGRID) (Gurugram) has achieved a significant milestone by securing two crucial interstate transmission line projects, Bhadla III and Ananthapuram Kurnool, from PFC Consulting (New Delhi). These projects are set to play a pivotal role in evacuating 23.5 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy from the states of Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh.

The Bhadla III transmission project is dedicated to establishing a comprehensive transmission system that will efficiently evacuate power from Rajasthan's renewable energy zone. Meanwhile, the Ananthapuram Kurnool transmission project in Andhra Pradesh has set its sights on constructing a state-of-the-art transmission network to cater to the solar energy zones in Ananthapuram (2.5 GW) and Kurnool (1 GW).

In Rajasthan, the Bhadla III project encompasses the construction of a new 765/400/220-kilovolt (kV) pooling station, in addition to a 765-kV, direct-current (DC) transmission line that traverses the state and necessary bay expansion works. The development of this critical interstate transmission system project is anticipated to be completed within 18 months from the effective date of the contract.

The Ananthapuram Kurnool project encompasses the establishment of a new 400/220-kV pooling station between Ananthapuram and Kurnool. It also involves the installation of two 400-kV, DC transmission lines. The project is scheduled to be completed within 24 months from the contract's effective date.
