Industrial Info's Weekly North American Refining Report

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--IIR's weekly North American Refining Report gives you the latest inside intelligence on outages, derates, shutdowns, closures, delays and more. Tomorrow's news today...

And IIR has recently formalized an Alliance with Refinery Calc, which will play an integral role in producing IIR's North America Refinery Market Intel Platform -- the first of its kind in the industry.

Market Commentary:
Signs. Crude Runs continue to increase and gasoline stocks continue to decrease. Promising signs. However, distillate stocks rose yet again, as did imports, with exports falling. Not so promising signs.

Fundamental Analytics

And WTI is back over $40. A good sign. Although it is at the top of its range -- a roughly $4 range it has been trading in all of June into July. Not as good of a sign.

Rigs drilling for oil are down 4 to 181.

Not a good sign if one is in oil field services, as thousands of layoffs are happening, but promising if one is hoping there will be a supply/demand balance here in 2020 helping to support prices. More so as OPEC+ is unlikely to extend its cuts into August. However, U.S. production has only fallen to 11 million barrels per day (BBL/d). An interesting sign.

But the most promising sign of all is IIR's recent alliance with Refinery Calc, which will provide Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as the Lost Yield Impact Analysis for refineries in North America.

Refinery Calc models all of North America's refineries, providing intel on their crude slates, crude runs, product yields, margins and utilizations. This modeling will provide a slew of intelligence signs of what is happening in regards to refinery operations in North America.

So intriguing times (and signs) are indeed here in North America as one tries to get a good handle on the overall Supply and Demand picture and its impact on the energy industry. Therefore, within this North America Refining Report, IIR hopes to shed some light on what is transpiring from a refinery operations perspective all the way down to the refinery level in Canada. Incorporating a North America Refinery Map as well as Area Chart to illustrate collectively when we can expect refinery capacity to return over the next month or so. For the U.S., IIR is even providing a chart to indicate when we might expect PADDs themselves to become healthier.
