ISPRL to Add 6.5 Million Tons to India's Crude Oil Strategic Reserves

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserves Limited (ISRPL) is moving ahead with strengthening India's crude oil reserves by adding four additional underground storage facilities. Approval has been given for two strategic reserves, and locations have been selected at Padur (Karnataka) and Chandikhole (Odisha). The newly announced strategic reserves will add 6.5 million tons of crude oil storage to the current 5.33 million-ton capacity, allowing India to meet fuel demand for an additional 12 days. The decision for the remaining two locations, Rajkot (Gujarat) and Bikaner (Rajasthan), has yet to be finalized.
