Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--Jiangxi Thermal Power Construction Company (JXTPC) (Nanchang, Jiangxi) won the construction and erection bid for Unit 2, as well as for parts of the common facilities, of China Huaneng Group's (Beijing) 1,200-megawatt (MW) Anyuan Power Plant project on June 18, 2013, according to an announcement from JXTPC on June 19.

As reported, China Huaneng Group has completed the bidding for all four main construction bids for the coal-fired project. In addition to the bid for Unit 2, the construction and erection bids for the main powerhouse, the balance of plant, and Unit 1 have been awarded to Zhejiang No.2 Thermal Power Construction Company, Henan No.2 Thermal Power Construction Company (Zhengzhou, Henan) and Northeast Electric Power No.3 Engineering Construction Company (Jinzhou, Liaoning), respectively.

The Huaneng Anyuan Power Plant is located in Luxi Industrial Park of Pingiang City, in central China's Jiangxi province. The power plant has a total planned capacity of 3,200 MW, of which two 660-MW, ultra-supercritical, coal-fired secondary reheating units will be built in Phase I, together with a high-efficiency electrostatic dust remover, a high-efficiency flue gas desulfurization device and a nitrogen oxide control device. Groundbreaking of the project kicked off on May 6, 2012.

The main turbine, generator and boiler (TGB) equipment of the project has been awarded to Dongfang Electric Corporation (Chengdu, Sichuan) on November 1, 2012. According to the schedule, the project will begin operations in 2014. Upon completion, the project will replace 260 MW of small, coal-fired units, which will improve the local energy conservation and promote local emission reduction efforts by reducing emissions by about 3,880 metric tons of sulfur oxide, or 560 metric tons of soot every year.
