New Jersey's Vineland Municipal Electric Awards New Contract for Clayville Project

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Vineland Municipal Electric Utility (Vineland, New Jersey) is preparing for the construction of its 60-megawatt (MW), natural gas-fired combustion turbine at its Clayville Switch Power Station in Vineland, Cumberland County, New Jersey. Vineland Electric has awarded a new contract to C & H Industrial Services (Franklinville, New Jersey) for plant construction.

The contract originally went to Infrastructure & Industrial Energy (Pittsburg, Pennsylvania), but that contract was voided as a result of a legal dispute.

Site preparation recently began, and the plant is expected to produce power for the grid by June 2015. The site includes a Rolls-Royce Trent 60 combustion turbine; a fuel gas scrubber; diesel-fired pumps; a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system to reduce NOx emission; and associated facilities.

The facility will connect to an existing 69-kV transmission line. A switching station is under construction.
