Noble and Cargill to Build Biodiesel Plants in Brazil

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Multinational commodities company Noble Group Limited (Hong Kong, China) and Cargill Incorporated (Minneapolis, Minnesota) are planning to construct biodiesel-producing facilities through their Brazilian subsidiaries. Both plants are to be operational by early 2012.

Noble's grassroot facility will be built in Rondonopolis, in Mato Grosso state, with an investment of about $200 million. It is expected to process 1.3 million tons of soy grains, to yield 200,000 tons of biodiesel per year.

Cargill will build its biodiesel plant in Tres Lagoas, Mato Grosso do Sul state, near a grain-processing facility owned by the company, with an investment of $76 million. The production capacity will be 200,000 tons of biodiesel per year.
