Shandong Province to Invest $15 billion in Coal Industry in Next Five Years
North China's Shandong province will invest more than $15 billion in its coal industry by the end of 2015, according to China's Coal Industry Administration Bureau.

Shandong will kick off construction of 16 underground coal mines with a total production capacity of 12.6 million metric tons and put 18 underground coal mines into operation. The company will try to obtain coal production of about 150 million metric tons per year within 20 years. The existing Jining, Yanzhou and Zaoteng coalfields in central Shandong will be maintained, and the life of old coalfields such as Linyi, Zibo, Xinwen, Feicheng and Longkou coalfields will be extended.
In the western part of the province, the Juye Mining Zone, the outskirts of the Jining Mining Zone, and the Wanfu, Huangdian, Zhangji, Chenmanzhuang undergrounds coal mines will be developed. Construction on seven underground mines, including Longxiang, Shuanghe, Xinlou and Taixi coal mines will begin. In the northern part of the province, the Yanggu-Chiping Coalfield and the Yellow River North Coalfield will be developed.
During the 12th Five-Year Plan (2011-15), the Aicheng Coalfield and Pandian underground coal mine will be prepared for development. During the 13th Five-Year Plan, development of these coalfields will be fully kicked off.
