Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Sinoma International Engineering Company Limited (SIEC) (Beijing) (SHA:600970), a listed subsidiary of China National Materials Corporation (Sinoma) (Beijing), signed the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract valued at $1.43 billion for seven cement production lines and a cement grinding mill project with Dangote Group (Lagos, Nigeria) in Lagos recently. Shoufu Wu, the president of Sinoma International, attended the signing ceremony and signed the contract with his counterpart, Sinoma announced on April 14, 2011.
SIEC has previously signed contracts of nearly $900 million to build four production lines for Dangote Group, the largest manufacturing conglomerate in West Africa.
As reported, projects involved in this signed contract include two 6,000-ton-per-day cement manufacturing lines in Ibese, a 6,000-ton-per-day cement manufacturing line in Obajanal, three 3,000-ton-per-day cement manufacturing lines in Congo, Gabon and Tanzania, a 3,000-ton-per-day cement clinker line with associated grinding mill, and a 1 million-metric-ton cement grinding mill in Cameroon.
"Sinoma International has won friendly trust from Dangote Group in past cooperation, especially during the implementation of three cement manufacturing lines in Obajana and Ibese, Nigeria and the manufacturing line in Senegal. The further cooperation indicates that the strategic partnership between Sinoma International and Dangote Group has been further enhanced," said Wu at the signing ceremony.
"Sinoma International will organize a powerful and highly efficient working team in the shortest time for the project to ensure timely, high-quality completion of these projects, and make Sinoma International a low-cost, low-risk, high-quality and top-grade integrated supplier in the cement construction market of Africa," Wu said.
As a leading global integrated cement construction supplier, Sinoma International won more than $2.3 billion in new overseas contracts in 2010, accounting for more than a 37% share in the international market.
