Twin Creek Technologies Incorporated has begun site preparations for a $175 million, 100-megawatt solar manufacturing plant that will produce crystalline-silicone photovoltaic solar panels.

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Twin Creek Technologies Incorporated (San Jose, California) has begun site preparations for a $175 million, 100-megawatt (MW) solar manufacturing plant that will produce crystalline-silicone photovoltaic solar panels.
Site preparation for Phase I construction began in May. Phase I, which is estimated to cost $75 million, will consist of the construction of a 25-MW, 100,000-square-foot building with the installation of supporting equipment. Completion for Phase I is expected by the spring of 2011. Phase II, which is estimated to cost $100 million, is expected to begin in the early summer of 2011. Phase II will include construction of a 75-MW, 150,000-square-foot building with the installation of supporting equipment. Completion of Phase II is expected by the spring of 2012. Approximately 500 jobs will be created.
W.G. Yates & Sons Construction Company (Philadelphia, Mississippi) and Walbridge Aldinger (Detroit, Michigan) was selected as a joint venture team to provide general construction services for the plant.
Twin Creek Technologies, a privately held company founded in 2008, has engineering and manufacturing locations in Boston, Massachusetts, and San Jose, California.
