Vietnam's Renewable Power Market Attracts Thai Investors, an Industrial Info Market Brief

Thailand's business giants have expressed interest in investing in solar and windfarm power projects in Vietnam. BG Container Glass PCL, one of Thailand's top glass packaging manufacturers, is currently negotiating with Vietnamese Power project developers to invest at least two solar farms with a combined capacity of 50-100 megawatts. The estimated investment value is between $31.9 million and $63.88 million. A deal could be sealed by fourth-quarter 2020.

Another interested investor, Gulf Energy Development PLC of Thailand, said it will invest in two 50-megawatt windfarm projects in Gia Lai Province in Vietnam's central highlands. The projects have a total investment value of $200 million. Vietnam's high-paced renewable energy project development, and the growth in electric power demand have raised the interests of foreign investors.
