Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas--China-based Sungrow (Hefei) has entered into three significant energy-storage contracts with Saudi Arabia's Algihaz Holding (Riyadh) to develop the world's largest grid-side standalone energy-storage facilities. Each facility will have a capacity of 2.6 gigawatt-hours (GWh), adding up to a total of 7.8 GWh. The projects are set to be located in Najran, Madaya, and Khamis Mushait in Saudi Arabia. According to the development timeline, deliveries are scheduled to begin this year, with grid connections anticipated by 2025.

During the design and construction phase, Sungrow will perform system simulations, conduct field-level grid hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) experiments, and simulate local grid conditions to verify strategy consistency and ensure the energy storage system's safe and stable grid connection.

Additionally, Sungrow will carry out pre-installation and pre-commissioning of equipment, enabling rapid on-site installation and grid connection to meet the project's stringent delivery requirements.

For ongoing operations and maintenance, Sungrow will employ its intelligent energy management system (EMS), which provides multi-level real-time monitoring from the cell to the pack and system levels to ensure safe and efficient operations. The project is expected to have a lifespan of over 15 years, guaranteeing substantial returns on investment for the stakeholders.
