DPR is at work on several data centers across the U.S., including many for Facebook Incorporated (NASDAQ:FB) (Menlo Park, California). Among the largest of these is Facebook's Project Echo, which involves the construction of a large data center campus in Sandston, Virginia, on the outskirts of Richmond. Construction on Phase I began in late 2017, and two subsequent phases have subsequently begun, with a fourth phase on the way. Phase I includes constructing a 1 million-square-foot facility, comprised of two one-story, connected buildings. Construction on this phase is expected to be completed soon. Phases II and III each include adding a 500,000-square-foot data hall and are expected to be completed by the end of this year and in the first half of 2020, respectively. Phase IV, the final phase, will add another 500,000 square feet and is expected to be completed by the end of 2020. For more information, see Industrial Info's project reports on Phase I, Phase II, Phase III and Phase IV.
DPR also is at work on a data center at a brownfield site in San Francisco, California, for fifteenfortyseven Critical Realty LLC (Matawan, New Jersey). The project entails demolishing the existing 90,400-square-foot building to construct a two-story, 187,000-square-foot data center building with two 12-megawatt power feeds and 15 fiber networks. Construction also includes renovating two other existing buildings to provide office and mechanical equipment space. Construction began in the first half of 2018 and is expected to be completed in fourth-quarter 2019. The project has an estimated total investment value (TIV) of $200 million. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.
In traditional manufacturing, DPR is working as general contractor on a grassroot washing machine manufacturing plant in Clarksville, Tennessee, for LG Electronics Incorporated (Seoul, South Korea). Construction on the $250 million project began in 2017 and is expected to be completed later this year. The 820,000-square-foot facility will manufacture front- and top-loading washing machines. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.
DPR also is at work on several projects in the Pharmaceutical-Biotech sector, mostly in California. In San Francisco, DPR is at work on a neurosciences research building addition for the University of California at the Mission Bay campus. The project entails constructing a six-story, 274,000-square-foot building with 50,000 square feet of wet lab space and a 16,000-square-foot vivarium. Construction began early last year and is expected to wrap up in the first quarter of 2020. Mark Cavagnero Associates Architects (San Franscisco) is the architect on the project, which has an estimated TIV of $185 million. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.
In North Carolina, DPR is working on a nursing and STEM instructional building addition at the University of North Carolina's Greensboro campus. The project includes demolishing an existing building and constructing a four-story, 180,000-square-foot, LEED Silver-certified building. The facility will be used 50% by the School of Nursing, with the remainder serving biology, chemistry, and health and human sciences. Construction on the $105 million project began in mid-2018 and is expected to be completed in the summer of 2020. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.
