Among the New England projects planned to kick off this year is The Abbey Group's (Boston, Massachusetts) construction of grassroot life science research and development campus buildings in Boston. The project includes constructing the 6-story, 230,000-square-foot Building A and the 14-story, 284,000-square-foot Building B on a 5.6-acre site to house the research and development activity of multiple tenants focused on the life sciences and related disciplines. Already underway is NRG Incorporated's (NYSE:NRG) (Houston, Texas) construction of a 330-megwatt (MW) natural gas-fired combustion turbine unit addition at the company's power plant in Sandwich, Massachusetts. The project is planned to be completed in summer 2019. Burns & McDonnell (Kansas City, Missouri) is providing engineering, procurement and construction on the project, which has an estimated total investment value of $320 million.
