North America
Cenex Harvest States Incorporated has restarted the 30,000-BBL/d Hydrocracker at its 94,000-BBL/d McPherson, Kansas, refinery, after it was shut down on July 15 due to a process upset.

Imperial Oil continues with a planned maintenance turnaround of the 25,000-BBL/d Fluid Coker, which started on April 2, at its 120,000-BBl/d Sarnia, Ontario, Canada, refinery. The event, which had been scheduled to end on July 17, is now expected to be mechanically complete on July 31. Startup of the unit will begin in early August.

International
SINOPEC SABIC TianJin Petrochemical restarted the 2.2 billion-pound-per-year ethylene unit, on July 11, at its Tianjin Petrochemicals plant in China. Meanwhile, the 2,799-BBL/d methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) unit and 661 million-pound-per-year high-density polyethylene (HDPE) unit were both restarted on July 14. All three units were shut down for a planned turnaround on May 9.

Taiyo Oil Company Limited is on schedule to perform a 34-day planned turnaround, on August 27, of the 875.2 million-pound-per-year ethylbenzene unit at its Ube Yamaguchi Chemicals Plant in Japan. Expectations are to complete repairs and restart the unit on September 29.

Petroquimica Cuyo is on schedule to perform a 21-day maintenance program on the 349 million-pound-per-year polypropylene unit at its Lujan de Cuyo plant in Argentina. Maintenance work is planned for September.
