"PM Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PM FME)" is the new scheme that India has launched to increase the self-sufficiency in food processing. The scheme would generate an investment of approximately $4.6 billion.
The scheme will be implemented under the policy of "One District One Product," (ODOP) in which preference will be given to those who produce ODOP products. The expenditure will be shared between the central and state governments in a 60:40 ratio.
