Shell's joint venture, LNG Canada, has slowed site work at its Kitimat, British Columbia, liquefied natural gas project due to COVID-19. Reducing the number of site workers was a necessary step in an effort to contain the virus. Work will continue, and priorities due to seasonal windows for construction will be administered, but like other businesses, Shell said it wants to protect its employees, contractors and the local population, and will implement new safety standards and protocol during the project's construction.
