Mexico's Air Operations Suffer 87% Fall in Departures Due to COVID-19, an Industrial Info Market Brief
According to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), between April 23 and 29, just 81 departures were made from different Mexican airports, which contrasts with the 636 operations that were jointly carried out in the country seven days before the first case of COVID-19 in Mexico was announced, on February 27.

According to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), between April 23 and 29, just 81 departures were made from different Mexican airports, which contrasts with the 636 operations that were jointly carried out in the country seven days before the first case of COVID-19 in Mexico was announced, on February 27.
Industrial Info is tracking 17 operational airports in Mexico, which is the second-most affected market in Latin America, behind only Brazil (Industrial Info is tracking 84 in this country). According the International Air Transport Association (IATA), Mexican aviation for commercial purposes will lose up to $6.4 billion due to the current health crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
