Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Le Groupe Fonroche Energie (Roquefort, France), with Neoen ENR de Mexico SA de CV (Mexico City), plans to construct a solar photovoltaic (PV) power station 6 kilometers (km) west of the municipality of Galeana in the state of Nuevo Leon in the northeastern region of Mexico. The total investment value of this project is roughly $65 million.
Neoen will act as the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) firm for the project. The power station will be installed on a 227-acre site and will consist of an Exosun (Bordeaux, France) single-axis tracking system with 100,000 Yingli (NYSE:YGE) (Baoding, China) thin-film polycrystalline photovoltaic solar panels. Once completed, the PV power station will provide a total of about 30 megawatts (MW) and will generate about 60 gigawatt hours (GWh) of electricity annually. The station will generate enough electricity for just about 20,000 homes as well as commercial and industrial sectors.
The power station is estimated to create about 200 site preparation and construction jobs. About 10-15 permanent positions will be created for labor security, operation and maintenance of the station.
This project is scheduled to break ground sometime in June 2017. The station is slated for full operations sometime in April 2018.
