North American Petroleum Refining Industry Turnaround Activity and Future Spending, a Feature of Industry Today on Industrialinfo.com Radio

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas). Capital and maintenance spending for the North American Petroleum Refining Industry is reaching record levels. In a special segment of “Industry Today,” Chris Paschall, VP of Refining for Industrial Info, will give an inside look at some of the drivers behind capital and maintenance spending trends in the industry. “Industry Today” is a weekly internet radio broadcast hosted by Industrial Info featuring technology, industry trends and company executives important to the industrial market.

In recent years, the Petroleum Refining Industry has consistently invested in low sulfur fuel technologies while also investing in major plant upgrades designed to keep up with an increasing demand. The task of employing technology to reduce plant emissions, meet higher fuel standards, remain competitive and meet demand consistently challenges the industry. As the industry spends considerable capital and maintenance dollars each year to meet these goals, the result is considerable opportunity for equipment and service providers, technology licensors and others capable of supporting the industry’s growth with key products and services.

In this special segment of “Industry Today,” Mr. Paschall will share his thoughts and research results on capital and maintenance spending trends identified for the upcoming year including planned turnaround activity that could influence supply and demand. “The cost of crude and feedstock are no longer the biggest challenges for the industry to grow and remain profitable in recent years. A shortage in available construction labor and engineers, combined with very long delivery times for major equipment, each play an important role in the industry’s ability to execute projects,” states Mr. Paschall.
