SQM is planning on implementing a $240 million investment program at its plant that is expected to develop from this year. This plan of action includes the projects that aim at expanding the production capacity at its Chemical Processing site in Antofagasta. They company plans on increasing lithium carbonate production capacity from 70,000 Metric T/yr to 180,000 Metric T/yr as well as expanding the hydroxide carbonate unit so as to start producing 30,000 Metric T/yr. SQM is planning on starting operating with the new installed capacities in the first quarter of 2023.
