Researched by Industrial Info Resources Latin America (Cordoba, Argentina)--The detailed engineering phase of Venezuela's Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) Fractionation Plant project will continue until the end of the year, with construction to begin in second-quarter 2015, according to PDVSA Gas Anaco (Anzoategui, Venezuela), a subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas company PDVSA (Caracas).

The 50,000-barrel-per-day plant would separate NGL into propane, butane and natural gasoline. PDVSA plans to build four spheres, plus a 100,000-barrel storage tank.
PDVSA had planned for more storage tanks in a second phase, but later ruled out additional storage due to economic constraints.
Enppi (Cairo, Egypt), through subsidiary Enppi Venezuela (Miranda, Venezuela), plans to conduct detailed engineering until December 2014, but this date could be extended until March 2015 if setbacks occur.
PDVSA Gas Anaco is seeking an equity partner to help finance the project. Enppi will select a contractor for the construction phase and will supervise the work, until the plant begins operations.
