Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Green Bay Packaging Incorporated (Green Bay, Wisconsin) plans to begin construction next month on a $25 million capital project at a mill in Morrilton, Arkansas. Green Bay is investing in a secondary fiber unit that will allow the mill to increase processing capacity of recycled material by 500 tons per day.
The Morrilton site has a two secondary fiber units: a 210-ton- per-day unit and a 310-ton-per-day unit. Green Bay is finalizing equipment design and expects to begin construction on building additions this summer. The installation of processing equipment will begin at the end of this year. The secondary fiber expansion project is slated for completion next summer.
Baisch Engineering (Kaukauna, Wisconsin) is providing engineering services to the project. Green Bay will provide construction management, and has not decided whether to award contracts on a lump-sum basis or a time-and-materials basis.
The Morrilton facility is a fully integrated kraft pulp and paper mill that has two linerboard machines and produces corrugating medium and linerboard grades, ranging from 26 to 69 pounds.
