Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Automotive supplier TG Missouri Corporation (TGMO) (Perryville, Missouri), a division of Toyoda Gosei (Troy, Michigan), has begun construction on a $38.9 million expansion of its automotive parts manufacturing plant in Perryville. The expansion will include the addition of a new chrome-plating production line to enables the company to manufacture chrome components for Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana's (TMMI) plant in Princeton, Indiana.

Construction started last month on a 33,000-square-foot building addition that will add additional manufacturing space. The new production line will supply chrome components for grills and rear details for the Toyota Highlander vehicle and will include specialized equipment from Japan. Approximately 200 new jobs will be created once the expansion has been completed.

TGMO manufactures plastic automotive parts for Toyota (NYSE:TM), General Motors (NYSE:GM), Honda (NYSE:HMC) and Mitsubishi, producing interior and exterior components such as dashboard and console accessories, and safety system products like airbags.

Robinson Construction Company (Perryville, Missouri) was selected to provide general construction services for the expansion.

TMMI is currently planning a $400 million expansion of its truck and SUV plant in Princeton, Indiana. Construction is expected to begin this year, with overall completion slated for 2013. The expansion will include the relocation of equipment from an existing assembly plant in Japan and will add 50,000 units per year of additional capacity to the existing annual capacity of 101,000 units.
