Higher Production Swings Canadian Natural Resources to Profit - Oil and gas producer Canadian Natural Resources (NYSE:CNQ) on Thursday posted a quarterly profit, compared with a year-ago loss, driven by higher production. The company reported a net income of C$597 million ($445.72 million) in the fourth quarter ended December 31, up from a net loss of C$776 million ($578.4 million) a year earlier. (Reuters)

Freeport LNG Gets Green Light for Second Export Dock - Liquefied natural gas (LNG) company Freeport LNG got the green light from federal regulators to put a second dock at its Brazoria County, Texas, export terminal into service. (Plant 3016690) (Houston Chronicle)

Kinder Morgan Faces Uncertainty over Texas Gas Pipeline - U.S. energy company Kinder Morgan Incorporated (NYSE:KMI) said its proposed Permian Pass natural gas pipeline in Texas faced an uncertain future since no customers for the project have been lined up in the current low-price environment. Kinder Morgan Chief Strategy Officer Dax Sanders told analysts at the Credit Suisse Energy Summit in Vail, Colorado, on Wednesday, the company would not build Permian Pass "until we get good solid long-term contracts, minimum 10-year take-or-pay contracts."
