China Huadian to Increase Cooperation with Indonesia in Power and Coal Sectors

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--China Huadian Corporation (Beijing) recently signed a joint venture agreement at the Third China-Indonesia Energy Forum for a coal mine as part of the Sumatera Selatan power project in Jakarta, Indonesia.

According to Gongmin Yun, General Manager of China Huadian, the company will increase cooperation with Indonesia in power and coal development to achieve mutual benefits and to promote social and economic development in Indonesia. At the forum, Yun introduced China Huadian's development plan in the Eleventh Five-Year Plan and discussed the construction of the 4X600-megawatt pithead power plant in Sumatera Selatan, as well as related issues regarding improved cooperation in the energy sector.

The forum was organized by the Ministry of Mining & Energy and the National Energy Administration of China in order to explore related issues regarding energy investments and the sustainable development of new energies in both countries. Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang, Indonesian Vice President Yusuf Kalla and other representatives of leading enterprises from both countries attended the forum. Eight projects were signed during the forum between Chinese and Indonesian enterprises, including those in the oil, natural gas, electric power, coal and renewables sectors.
