Sources have been leaked out that construction of this concentrated photovoltaic power station will start soon and it's expected to go into production in three to five years. Once built it will be China's largest concentrated photovoltaic power station.

Another proposal to build an even larger photovoltaic power station designed to be located in Dunhuang City, Gansu Province is currently being reviewed by relevant authorities. The designed power of this photovoltaic power station is 5 megawatts and it attracted a total investment of $33 million.

In August 2004, Asia’s largest photovoltaic power station was built in Shenzhen City. It has a designed power of 1-megawatt and cost an investment of $8 million and was funded by Shenzhen City Government solely.

In December 2006, a contract was signed to build a 0.5-megawatt photovoltaic power station in Wuwei City, Gansu Province, with a total investment of $4.5 million. This photovoltaic power station is expected to gointo production in December 2009.
