China's Power Consumption Up 16.9%

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--In February, China's overall social power consumption grew to 623.5 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh), a jump of 16.9% year over year. From January through February, China's accumulative social power consumption reached 1,346.7 billion kWh, an increase of 5.8% year over year, according to the National Energy Administration.

China's power consumption in the primary industries (agriculture, forestry, fishing, mining and oil & gas production) reached 7.7 billion kWh, a jump of 15.4% year over year; that of the secondary industries (manufacturing) reached 375.6 billion kWh, a jump of 14.5%. Consumption by the tertiary industries (services) reached 118.2 billion kWh, a jump of 17.4%; that in the household of urban and township residents reached 122.0 billion kWh, a jump of 24.8% year over year.

From January through, China's accumulative power consumption in the primary industries reached 16.3 billion kWh, a jump of 12.8% year over year; that of the second industries reached 841.3 billion kWh, an increase of 3.4%; that of the third industries reached 248.8 billion kWh, a jump of 7.2%; that in the household of urban and township residents reached 240.3 billion kWh, a jump of 13.1%.
