Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas). Coal production in China increased 7.1% in the first half of this year, compared with the same period of the previous year, which was announced by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) on July 16, 2007.
In the first half of this year, the total coal production output in China reached 1,101.7 million metric tons. Among them, the total coal production output of important state-owned coalmines reached 600.44 million metric tons, an increase of 47.38 million metric tons, or 8.6%, compared with the same period of the previous year. The total coal production output of local state-owned coalmines reached 149.38 million metric tons, an increase of 4.27 million metric tons, or 2.9%, compared with the same period of the previous year. The total coal production output of township coalmines reached 351.88 million metric tons, an increase of 20.9 million metric tons, or 6.3%, compared with the same period of the previous year. The coal production output of these three categories of coalmine accounts for 54%, 14% and 32%, respectively, of the total coal production output in China.
In June, the total coal production output in China reached 201.3 million metric tons, an increase of 13.25 million metric tons, or 7.0%, compared with the same period of the previous year. Among them, the total coal production output of important state-owned coalmines reached 104.3 million metric tons, an increase of 7.75 million metric tons, or 8.0%, compared with the same period of the previous year. The total coal production output of local state-owned coalmines reached 25.8 million metric tons, an increase of 0.65 million metric tons, or 2.6%, compared with the same period of the previous year. The total coal production output of township coalmines reached 71.2 million metric tons, an increase of 4.84 million metric tons, or 7.3%, compared with the same period of the previous year.
