Datang Power to Increase China's Coal-Derived Energy Output

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Datang International Power Generation Company Limited (HKG:0991) (Beijing, China), along with Central Southern China Electric Power Design Institute (CSEPDI) (Wuhan, Hubei), a regional subsidiary of China Power Engineering Consultancy Corporation (Beijing), is in the preliminary design stage for Phase I of the Fuzhou Power Station, which will be located in Qingni Town, which is a part of Fuzhou City in the Jiangxi province, about 1,400 kilometers south of Beijing.

Construction of the $1.2 billion Phase I is scheduled to commence in October. However, Datang Power will continue to release requests for quotations (RFQs) and bid documents into the first quarter of next year. Phase I will entail the construction of the power station, including the installation of two ultra-supercritical coal-fired boilers to feed two 1,000-megawatt (MW) steam turbine/generators. When Phase I is completed in the fourth quarter of 2012, the Fuzhou Power Station will have a production capacity of 2,000 MW, which will be supplied to the local grid.
