Deer Park Refining has begun the restart of the 270,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) Crude DU-2 and 70,000-BBL/d Crude DU-1, after shutting them down on February 14 at its 270,000-BBL/d Deer Park refinery in Texas, due to mechanical issues and Winter Storm Uri. The refinery is planned to be operating normally later this week.

ExxonMobil, on Saturday, restarted the 280,300-BBL/d Crude Pipe Still 8, 100,000-BBL/d Crude Pipe Still 3, 65,000-BBL/d HF 4 (Reformer) and 42,000-BBL/d Flexicoker at its 557,000-BBL/d Baytown, Texas, refinery. The refinery was shut down on February 15 as a result of Winter Storm Uri.

Atyrau Refinery LLC is performing unplanned maintenance at its 100,000-BBL/d Atyrau Refinery in Kazakhstan. The 48,000-BBL/d RCCU (Residue Catalytic Cracker-Title 3201) and the 20,000-BBL/d Catalytic Reformer units were forced to shut down on March 3 due to equipment failure. Earlier in the year, the refinery had experienced a power supply disruption, which resulted in operational problems with the units and equipment failure. The units are expected to resume operations by April 15. As a result of the unplanned maintenance, a plant-wide turnaround, initially scheduled for September 2021, tentatively has been pushed to spring 2022.

Trafigura Pte Ltd continues to define the scope and schedule for planned repairs at its 31,500-BBL/d Bahia Blanca refinery in Argentina. Catalyst work on the 2,700-BBL/d Isomerization and 7,900-BBL/d HDT (Light Naphtha) units tentatively is scheduled for May/June 2021.

Novokuibyshevsk Refinery OJSC has rescheduled a planned maintenance turnaround at the 164,400-BBL/d Novokuibyshevsk Refinery in Russia. The 120,000-BBL/d ABT-11 (Crude 3) and 72,000-BBL/d ABT-11 (Vacuum 3) units had been expected to go down for planned maintenance early this month, but the work was rescheduled for early March 2022. Meanwhile, several other units remain on schedule to go down for planned maintenance late this month and in April. The units will be gradually restarted by mid-May.
