Delek US Holdings experienced a fire on February 27 on the 6,000-BBL/d Isomerization 6 unit at its 80,000-BBL/d El Dorado, Arkansas, refinery, while the unit was under planned maintenance. The 38-day, plant-wide maintenance turnaround began February 14 and will continue. An investigation into the cause, as well as damage assessment, are ongoing.

Irving Oil remains on schedule for a 60-day planned maintenance turnaround, starting September 16, of six units at its 300,000-BBL/d Saint John, New Brunswick, refinery. Separately, planned maintenance on the 25,000-BBL/d FCCU 25 (old unit) and 8,000-BBL/d SF Alky 32 (old unit), originally scheduled for September 2022, has been moved up to spring 2022.

Delek US Holdings shut down the 25,000-BBL/d FCCU on March 1 due to a leak at its 65,000-BBL/d Big Spring, Texas, refinery. Separately, four units were shut down on February 20, as well as the 22,750-BBL/d Diesel Hydrotreater (ULSD) on February 15.

International
SK Energy Company Limited continues reduced operations at its 840,000-BBL/d Ulsan Complex in South Korea, due to poor economics. The 60,000-BBL/d Crude 1, and three other units, remain de-rated by 15%. The 240,000-BBL/d Crude 4 has been shut down since January 12 and will remain as such until March 17. It will then undergo a 31-day planned maintenance turnaround from March 18 to April 17.

Saras Spa has completed a planned plant-wide shutdown, due to poor economics, of its 300,000-BBL/d Saras Refinery in Italy. The shutdown began in mid-October, and was completed in late February. The refinery has returned to its normal capacity.

PKN Orlen SA continues with a planned maintenance turnaround of the 69,452-BBL/d CDU IV Crude and 65,500-BBL/d VDU IV Vacuum Distillation Unit at its 277,808-BBL/d Plock Refinery in Poland. The units were shut down on January 31, and are tentatively expected to restart by March 12. Meanwhile, a one-month maintenance turnaround of the 69,452-BBL/d CDU II Crude and VDU II Vacuum Distillation Unit is expected to kick off in mid-April.
