Iraqi Company Selects Engineer for Feasibility Study for Refinery Construction

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Eridu Company for Oil Services (Baghdad, Iraq) has selected Foster Wheeler AG (NYSE:FWLT) (Geneva, Switzerland) to perform a feasibility study for a proposed 400,000-barrel-per-day crude oil refinery in Baghdad.

Eridu Company expects to select a joint venture partner for the project by this summer and expects to receive full approval by spring 2012. The refinery will supply refined crude petroleum products to meet local demand. Eridu Company still needs to select an engineering, procurement and construction firm.

Construction of the refinery is expected to commence in spring 2013 and will take approximately 48 months to complete.
