Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Privately held Lincoln Terminal Company Incorporated (Greenville, South Carolina), a subsidiary of Lincoln Energy Solutions Incorporated (Greenville), has eyed 45 acres of land in the Chattahoochee terminal community along the Chattahoochee River and the CSX-Tilford and NS-Inman rail yard in West Atlanta, Georgia, as the site for a new biofuels distribution and rail terminal.

Lincoln Energy Solutions has been growing its ethanol and biodiesel transportation services over the past five years and has primarily used tanker trucks to move biofuels. Plans for the new Atlanta terminal include six large storage tanks and a 90-car unit-train delivery facility with 24-hour unload capability.

The project involves the installation of some 8,100 feet of rail siding, operations building, water storage and rail and truck loading and unloading systems. The terminal will increase the company's capacity to move biofuels by rail that include fuel ethanol, biodiesel, butane and light oil products to the Atlanta area distribution market.

Closing on the property is scheduled imminently, and the company is in the process of securing permits to start construction. Construction could get underway before the end of the year.

Lincoln Terminal Company also acquired a new 130,000 barrel storage, distribution and unit train terminal in Charlotte, North Carolina, from Eco-Energy LLC (Franklin, Tennessee) that is tied into biofuel markets in the Northern Virginia and Washington DC region.

The firm markets as well as trades biofuels across the Southeast through itself and third-party facilities. Its marketing is primarily through niche facilities. The company is active in the Southeast from Maryland to Georgia and Tennessee with expansion north into Ohio and Kentucky in 2016. All companies combined, the 2016 projected sales are expected to exceed $1 billion in revenue.
