PRODUCTION
U.S. Oil Production Nears 12 Million BBL/d in August - U.S. oil output climbed to nearly 12 million barrels per day (BBL/d) in August, government figures showed on Monday, the highest since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, even as shale companies have said they do not see production accelerating in coming months. U.S. crude oil production rose 0.9% to 11.98 million BBL/d in August, the highest since March 2020, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) said in monthly figures. (Reuters)

PIPELINES
MPLX Reports Higher Pipeline Throughput for Third Quarter - MPLX LP's (NYSE:MPLX) (Findlay, Ohio) total pipeline throughputs for third-quarter 2022 were 5% higher than the same time last year, the company said Tuesday. Pipeline throughputs were 5.8 million BBL/d in the third quarter. MPLX's net income totaled $1.43 billion in the quarter, compared with $802 million for the same time last year. (Reuters)

NATURAL GAS
U.S. Natural Gas Futures Drop 10% - U.S. natural gas futures dropped about 10% on Tuesday, following a 12% rise on Monday as traders took profits during a period of extreme volatility after the latest forecasts called for the weather to remain mild for the next two weeks. Front-month gas futures fell 64.1 cents, or 10.1%, to settle at $5.714 per million British thermal units. It was the biggest daily percentage drop since a 17% plunge in late June. (Reuters)
