Oil Prices Rise, U.S. Discount to Brent Deepens - Oil prices rose on Monday as OPEC reported that the global oil glut has been virtually eliminated, while U.S. crude's discount to global benchmark Brent widened to more than $7 per barrel, its deepest in five months. (Reuters)

EIA: U.S. Shale Production to Hit Record in June - U.S. shale oil production is expected to rise by about 145,000 barrels per day (BBL/d) to a record 7.18 million BBL/d in June, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) said on Monday. A majority of the increase is expected to come from the Permian Basin, the biggest U.S. oil patch, where output is expected to climb 78,000 BBL/d to a fresh record of 3.28 million BBL/d, the EIA said in its monthly drilling productivity report.
