TXU Power Corporation, a subsidiary of TXU Corporation (NYSE:TXU) (Dallas, Texas), is conducting studies to add up to six additional nuclear units in Texas by 2020. TXU currently has two units for a total of about 2,300 megawatts at its Comanche Peak Nuclear Station near Glen Rose, in Somervell County, Texas.
TXU's nuclear generation plans are part of more than 36,000 megawatts of proposed new generation units of all fuel types planned in Texas.
