Construction of Jincheng Coal's Hudi Mine and Selection Plant Begins in Shanxi

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The cornerstone-laying ceremony of Jincheng Anthracite Mining Group Company Limited's (Jicheng Coal) (Jincheng, Shanxi) 4 million-metric-ton expansion project for the Hudi Mine and Associated Selection Plant was held at Qinshui County, in Central China's Shanxi province on January 12, the Qinshui County announced government announced online on January 14.

Hudi Mine is originally a 300,000-metric-ton mine at Hudi Town in Qinshui County. During the province-wide coal resource integration and reformation performed in Shanxi last year, Hudi Mine was kept by the local government as an independent coal mine, and the carrier to reform the coal resources in the area. Jincheng Coal decided to expand its production capacity to 4 million metric tons a year in accordance with the general planning of Jincheng Mining Zone approved by the National Energy Administration.

The expansion project has been listed as one of the key projects in Shanxi in 2010. Construction is mainly comprised of the mining shafts, the associated coal selection plant and the special railway. The project covers a mining field of 73.04 square kilometers. Of which, the No. 3 coal seam has a total geological reserve of 613 million metric tons. The associated 4 million-metric-ton coal selection plant and special railway covers a total land occupation of 49.2 hectares. Total investment estimate of the project is about $636 million. Jicheng Coal Hudi Company Limited, a subsidiary of Jincheng Coal, is responsible for the construction and operation of the project. According to the schedule, the project is expected to be completed and begin operations in 2015.

Jincheng Coal is an important anthracite producer in China with annual coal production capacity of more than 50 million metric tons, and the largest coal chemical enterprise group and coal-bed methane utilization base in China.
